Durante mucho tiempo este fue mi disco favorito de Kiss. Al no formar parte de la discografía oficial, no puedo ofreceros el enlace de Spotify para que lo escuchéis. Tras el fracaso comercial de The Elder y la tendencia a la baja de las ventas de los últimos discos, la compañía discográfica quiso un disco recopilatorio (otro directo no, por favor, debieron pensar) y lo comercializaron fuera de Estados Unidos, porque allí ya existían recopilatorios.
Como Kiss sabe hacer las cosas bien, hicieron canciones nuevas, con compositores externos como Mikel Japp, Bryan Adams (sí el cantante canadiense. ¿A que sorprende?) y Adam Mitchel. Aunque el productor sea Michael James Jackson, no estamos hablando del Rey del Pop. Recuerdo haberlo tocado con la batería montones de veces. Sobre todo Down On Your Knees con su cencerro. ¡Cómo me lo pasaba!
La mala noticia es que el segundo miembro fundador que abandona la banda, va a ser Ace Frehley. Bob Kulick le sustituirá en las nuevas canciones.
For a long time this was my favorite Kiss album. Not being part of the official discography, that's the reason I can not offer you the opportunity of listening the tunes at Spotify.
After the commercial failure of The Elder and the downward trend in sales from the previous albums, the record company wanted a greatest hits (not another live recording, please, they must have thought) and they marketed outside the U.S.A. because there there wer already recent compilations.
As Kiss usually do things in the best possible manner, they added new songs with helping composers as Mikel Japp, Bryan Adams (yes the Canadian singer. Ain't it surprising?) and Adam Mitchell. Although the producer is Michael James Jackson, I'm not talking about the King of Pop.
I remember having played drums dubbing the LP (well, it was a tape) lots of times. Mostly Down On Your Knees with the cow bells. How I enjoyed that, boy!
The bad news was that the second original member who left the band was going to be Ace Frehley. Bob Kulick replaced him in the new tracks.
