Harry Potter y la Piedra Filosofal. Álbum de cromos 1.

Comienzo lo que creo que va a ser una serie de entradas que van a gustar a todos los aficionados a este mágo tan magnífico que muchos tenemos como la mejor adquisición de la imaginería popular  de los últimos años.


Este álbum lo hice en un fin de semana. Apliqué mi método para conseguir completar colecciones y la cosa fue algo así. El viernes compré el álbum. Miré el número de cromos y lo dividí entre el número de cromos que venían por sobre. Ese resultado fueron el número de sobres que tenía que comprar.


El sábado pegué los cromos que me habían salido no repetidos (como un sesenta por ciento) y con los repetidos me presenté en la plaza de Quintana en Madrid. Cambié los cromos y en cosa de media hora completé la colección.

Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince.

I had the opportunity of watching the last Harry Potter movie (Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince) last Tuesday and I think it would be great to start the new section of Sundays of TV Series and Movie theatres with this incredible film.

I was delighted that the sombre book was “translated” into a movie so impressively. David Yates, the director of the fifth part is also the director of this film. It was a difficult task to adapt the complex and long book into a script that could be easily understood and cinematographic as well.

To tell you the truth, I missed a lot of important scenes that appeared in the book, but I understand they must go out if the movie stays into a 150 minutes long. But some of them are capital to understand the whole point. And some things, specially in the work of the actors, are way to easy to discover because of their interpretation, taking off part of the surprises.

This movie is a Harry Potter movie, meaning Daniel Radcliffe (the actor that impersonates Harry) is the man where all the action lays on his shoulders. Sir Michael Gambon (as Dumbledore) is there as a supporting character, helping Radcliffe to maintain the interest in the story.

You’ll miss the great scene where Tony Blair talks with Rufus Scrimgeour, Prime Ministers of both of the worlds’ United Kingdom. But you the hint that Muggles are suffering from Death Eaters attacks. But disappearances are minimized, being an important part of the Lord Voldermort’s plans.

The other great character role is the Severus Snape work that an impressive Alan Rickman showcase in the movie. But in the end you get too much, if you haven’t read the last novel. Draco Malfoys developes into a very interesting character, thanks to Tom Felton work. Slitherings are well represented.

The Order of the Phoenix is really missed in this movie. I think the important role of this mages is minimized for nothing in particular, being a cool source of action and adventure and putting the Auror version of the story. I hope we would see more of them in the next two films (yes, the last book would be told as a two part movie).

And well, if you don’t know the Harry Potter canon you’ll lost many information that this movie only suggest. So, do yourself a favour and read the books. They are really good, indeed.

Writing about something related to Harry Potter is a hard task. Many people know so much about the young mage that you can commit a mistake is you are not careful. But it doesn’t hurt to recommend this movie as a cool one. Forget all the bad critics from people who is anxious about the conclusion of the saga. This chapter is a must see and a must have.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

The war against Voldemort is not going well; even Muggle governments are noticing. Ron scans the obituary pages of the Daily Prophet, looking for familiar names. Dumbledore is absent from Hogwarts for long stretches of time, and the Order of the Phoenix has already suffered losses.

And yet...

As in all wars, life goes on. Sixth-year students learn to Apparate - and lose a few eyebrows in the process. The Weasley twins expand their business. Teenagers flirt and fight and fall in love. Classes are never straightforward, though Harry receives some extraordinary help from the mysterious Half-Blood Prince.

So it's the home front that takes center stage in the multilayered sixth installment of the story of Harry Potter. Here at Hogwarts, Harry will search for the full and complex story of the boy who became Lord Voldemort - and thereby find what may be his only vulnerability.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard, by J. K. Rowling.

This new book by Harry Potter’s creator, J. K. Rowling is a pleasant reading that must be understand as a stand alone book but also as part of the Harry Potter canon.
It has not only tales by the author but drawings that work smoothly and help the reader to catch the general feeling.

If you remember (and are familiarized) with the novels of the young magician apprentice, Dumbledore’s heritage to Hermione Granger is this book. Hermione translate the book and now it is offered to the Muggle readers.

J.K. Rolling introduces us into the world of a Dark Ages Magician that tried to explain to children of another magicians how to be a good boy and how to understand the non-magical humans.

The first tale, The Wizard and the Hopping Pot was an interesting reading but not that great. At first I thought that Rowling was not at her peak. But then come the notes of Albus Dumbledore and then I get the whole point. It was a nice idea that let us come into the minds of the characters of the novels. Then I understood why this book is so important in the life of the magical community.

Babbitty Rabbity and Her Cackling Stump is a nice tale and has something to do with the animagic stuff, but is not that capital in explaining this kind of mages.

The Fountain of Fair Fortune and The Tale of the Three Brothers are in the eye of the hurricane of the last novel of Harry Potter’s adventures. The Deadly Hallows are easily explained here. And the tales are a really fine ones.

And one of my favourites, The Warlock’s Hairy Heart is so gore, so cool that it seams to be a great fun to write and that Rowling must had enjoy doing it. And also it has information on Horcrux, an important issue in Lord Voldemort (sorry! I mean You Know Who) and the Dead Eaters’ progress.

Well, this book of tales has a donation of £1.61 to Children’s High Level Group where J. K. Rowling and Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne try to lead a better life for children that their condition are, as they say, vulnerable. Great thing to do, yes sir.
