When July the 7th, 2003, The Darkness released Permission to Land, many Rock Guitar Magazines stated they where here to rescue Rock. Now, seven years later they don't even seem to save themselves. A pity.


This album was pure rock. Fresh music that sounded like it was recorded in the 70s with the technology of the new era. And the falseto voice of Justin Hawkins filled everything. He was / is a genius.  His songwriting, his guitar techniques and the way he behaved on stage made him one of the most promissing stars in the Rock Universe. But...

But Darkness came. Drugs and health problems take him down, leaving the band without their frontman. After being number one in UK, they fall to number eleven (not bad, indeed!) in their second CD, but after that, the three remaining members tryed everything. 


After some reconfiguration, they decided to change their name and be called Stone Gods. But nothing more. We, the fans, are still waiting.


I hope they revive as the Phoenix Bird.
