Complete Chronicles of Conan (9). Shadows in the Moonlight.

[via Wikipedia]
Second adventure of Conan close to the oceans. This time the story has to distinctive parts that are slightly linked by the presence of a new character, Olivia, an slave trying to run away from her captors. When she is about to get caught again, Conan intervenes because he has unsettled business with the leader of the pursuing party.

Killing this enslaver makes Conan also a fugitive, so he decided to lie low for a while. The girl goes with him and the couple ships away into an island with an strange temple and rare statues that surround it. The night falls and Conan gets aware that there is a pirate vessel docked by the shore. And what's worse, the captain, Sergius of Khrosha, is an enemy of his.

So, he has again some unsettled business with another rival. Conan fights the captain and kills him, but in the fight, a pirate throws a stone and puts Conan to sleep.

Now our hero is captive and the pirates drunk to unconsciousness. Olive tries to free Conan, returning the favor, but their fears come to life. A man-ape appears and slaughter the pirates (the Red Brotherhood). Conan fights and wins but he must flight.

When the two main characters arrive at the ship, they hear crying and shouting from the pirates. More monsters are killing them. Conan them gives them shelter and cast off the vessel. Some relive part is written by Howard when Conan (described as having a "massive chest", very manly) makes Olivia the Queen of the Blue Sea. But we all are waiting and longing for Bêlit, the Queen of the Black Coast. And we will see her next week.
