I discovered Staind in an interview at Guitar World. There, guitarist Mike Mushok explained his unconventional approach to playing the guitar, an instrument he already mastered but try something new with a baritone guitar and alternate tunings. And it was something that got me hooked.
Then I bought Dysfuntion, their first album and loved the way they rocked. Tunes like Just Go and Home were my favourites. Just Go, a song covered in that magazine, was really insightful in the way Mushok developed his new guitar technique.

Then Break The Cycle arrived and they took by surprise the musical market, selling over six million copies. A real huge success for a band in our time. Here you can listen to wonderful songs like Outside (here subtitled in Spanish) and For You.
For you, in my opinion, a piece of Dysfuntion into the new set. And it is so dark, so acid that I love it from the very first moment I hear it.

There’s no doubt Staind is the Aaron Lewis’ show but here you can see a band that really works. A band and not the guys covering a star. And that is why I like them so much. While having one of the most charismatic singers in today’s rock scene, they are a band and everyone of them are so close to the idea of bringing the best they can to their fans that they deserve to be noticed.
Enjoy the video.
Staind - For You
[via sta1ndsoul]
To my Mother
To my Father
It's your son or
It's your daughter
Are my screams
Loud enough for
You to hear me?
Should I turn this up for you?
I sit here locked inside my head
Remembering everything you've said
The silence get's us no where
Get's us no where way too fast
The silence
Is what kills me
I need someone
Here to help me
But you don't know
How to listen
And let me make
My decisions
I sit here locked inside my head
Remembering everything you've said
The silence get's us no where
Get's us no where way too fast
All your insults
And your curses
Make me feel like I'm not a person
And I feel like
I am nothing
But you make me
So do something
Cause I'm fucked up
Because you are
Need attention
Attention you couldn't give
I sit here locked inside my head
Remembering everything you've said
The silence get's us no where
Get's us no where way too fast
I sit here locked inside my head
Remembering everything you've said
The silence get's us no where
Get's us no where way too fast

Suenan muy bien.
Interesante lo de las guitarras.
Saludos
No es mal grupo, aunque algunas veces se lo creen demasiado. Lo de las guitarras es cosa buena, pero no les dió para grandes virtusismos.
