Three moderately successful albums. A live album that blows in sales. Another three moderately successful albums. The choice seemed clear: another live album. And that's what Kiss did.
They used the songs from the last three albums played live (there was some minor cheating, as some tracks were recorded at pre-concert sound check and then adding the sound of the audience). The live takes come from Los Angeles, though they had to fill with several live tracks recorded in Japan. And haven't filled the four sides of the double LP, they added a side D with five songs in recorded in studio.
Well, it is not the first Alive, that's for sure. But it in not a bad double LP. The new songs are good (Rocket Ride is the best) and the live recorded songs are taken from Kiss classic albums. I have this album on CD for a long time and is very flashy in my collection of CDs that I own having one of those ugly 'fatboy boxes' that occupied a lot of room.
