A very interesting cartoon that gives perspective of what was important in the 50s. It is a didactic short sponsored by the American Petroleum Institute and was directed by Carl Urbano.
Telling the story of an alien civilization that is collapsing by the low capacity of their energy sources, flies to Earth (well, they shouldn’t be that bad if they are capable of interplanetary travels) to learn from us the powerful oils.
Not a single word about contamination, of course.
But, forget the message and enjoy the smooth animation of this cartoon from 1957. It is really lovely.
