Under the shroud of the moonless night, the party executes a masterful, three-pronged strike to ensure their success against the high priest Malakor. While Niles slips through the outer sanctum like a ghost to swap the cult's genuine ritual key for a subtle, inert decoy, Elanna leads a diversionary, thunderous assault against the perimeter’s formidable shadow-touched sentry, drawing the cult’s gaze away from the command tent. In that narrow window of chaos, Thaddeus—guided by his precise reconnaissance of the high priest's layout—silently neutralizes the ritual leadership before the ceremony can even commence, ensuring no dark chant can be completed.
The precision of the operation is harrowing; during his infiltration, Niles rolls a 17 on his Stealth check to perfectly evade the site's pulsating magical wards. Simultaneously, Elanna’s bold front-line charge culminates in a display of raw power as she rolls a natural 20, shattering the sentry's dark, crystalline armor into a thousand shards. With the key rendered useless, the sentry shattered, and the high priest incapacitated, the group converges at the heart of the Black Crag as the first light of September 30th begins to bleed across the horizon. The threat of the portal is broken, leaving only the final act of sealing the rift forever.
