Descubrir que este manual es anterior a muchos de nosotros es, cuanto menos, sorprendente. ¡Tiene la misma edad que yo (vamos, un porrón de años)!
"El Manual del Oso Yogui" nos invita a sumergirnos en el fascinante mundo del bosque, que es el hilo conductor de todo el manual. A través de sus páginas, exploramos la flora y fauna que lo habitan, aprendiendo a identificar plantas, animales y sus huellas. Aunque estaba dirigido a niños, el "Manual del Tío Gilito" es un libro que ahora resulta curioso y puede ser leído personas de todas las edades. Los adultos también pueden aprender alguna cosa sobre el dinero con este libro.
No estaba mal este libro porque podrías aprender a manejar tu dinero de forma inteligente, al menos a darle una vuelta al dinerillo que teníamos como paga.
El "Manual del Tío Gilito" costaba 450 pesetas (2,7€) en 1983. Actualmente, el libro se puede encontrar en librerías de segunda mano o en línea.
Publicado en 1977 por la Editorial Montena, este manual se vendía por 300 pesetas, lo que actualmente sería 1,80 euros. Aunque pueda parecer un precio irrisorio, este manual escondía un tesoro de conocimientos mágicos.
Como manera de iniciarse en el mundo de la magia, estaba muy bien. Comienza enseñando trucos de cartas sencillos, perfectos para niños y principiantes. Luego, profundiza en el ilusionismo básico, revelando los secretos detrás de trucos no muy sorprendentes, pero eficaces.
Pero la magia no se limita solo a trucos. El "Manual de Patomas" también explora el mundo del horóscopo, los amuletos y la interpretación de los sueños. Además, introduce a los lectores en la quiromancia, el arte de leer las manos para adivinar el futuro.
Curiosamente, el manual también dedica una sección al ajedrez, un juego de estrategia que comparte la necesidad de anticipación y engaño con la magia.
Finalmente, el manual concluye con una sección dedicada nuevamente a la magia, quizás para reforzar los conocimientos adquiridos o para inspirar a los lectores a seguir explorando este mundo mágico.

Publicado en 1977 por Montena, el 'Manual de Tarconi' es un verdadero clásico de la divulgación científica para niños. Este libro, que costaba tan solo 250 pesetas (un euro y medio), ofrecía una amplia gama de experimentos sencillos.
Recuerdo con cariño sus páginas llenas de experimentos y actividades prácticas que me permitían desde generar electricidad estática hasta construir un periscopio. A pesar de su enfoque científico, el libro también se aventuraba en temas más misteriosos, como la existencia de los OVNIs, fomentando así un pensamiento crítico y una mente abierta.
Aunque este manual no era el favorito de mis compañeros de clase, para mí era una joya. Fue mi primer 'Manual Montena' y me fascinaba poder poner en práctica lo que aprendía, al igual que con los libros de 'Cómo hacer' de Usborne, traducidos por PLESA. Tarconi, el personaje de Disney, se convirtió en uno de mis favoritos del Don Miki gracias a este libro que despertó mi interés por la Ciencia y la Tecnología así como trampolín para el resto de Manuales Montena, aún siendo tan distinto de los otros manuales de los Jóvenes Castores.
El Quinto Manual de los Jóvenes Castores fue publicado en España en 1981 y costaba 450 pesetas. Este libro, cuyo título original era "Manuale del Gran Mogol", y se centraba como no había hecho ningún manual de los anteriores en el mundo de la vida al aire libre de la mano de un Gran Mogol, algó así como un monitor jefe de un grupo de niños de campamento, capaz de enfrentarse a cualquier desafío en la naturaleza, más que a proponer juegos al aire libre.
El Quinto Manual termina siendo una auténtica enciclopedia para los amantes del camping. En sus páginas encontrábamos todo lo necesario para disfrutar de la naturaleza:
* Supervivencia: Aprender a orientarse, hacer fuego, construir refugios y preparar alimentos en la naturaleza.
* Meteorología: Conocer los secretos del tiempo y cómo interpretar los signos del cielo.
* Botánica: Identificar plantas medicinales y venenosas, y aprender sobre sus propiedades.
* Primeros auxilios: Adquirir conocimientos básicos para atender pequeñas lesiones y emergencias.
Además, el manual dedicaba un espacio especial al horóscopo. En todos los manuales hay un apartado a los oráculos y a la adivinación.
A pesar de que en versiones posteriores el Quinto Manual pasó a llamarse simplemente "Manual del Gran Mogol", tal y como era su nombre original, la esencia en esas versiones se mantuvo intacta con respecto a la primera edición.
La colección de Manuales de los Jóvenes Castores continuó en 1977 con el cuarto volumen, publicado por la Editorial Montena. Esta nueva entrega, original de la italiana Mondadori, continuó la estela del tercer volumen, con contenidos variados sin mucho vínculo entre ellos.
Con un precio que ascendió a 450 pesetas (equivalente a 2,70 euros), este manual se convirtió en un objeto de deseo para todos los jóvenes exploradores (por ser más caro y yo creo que más difícil de conseguir). Sus páginas, llenas de ilustraciones y actividades, nos invitaban a descubrir las más variadas cosas.
Uno de los aspectos más destacados de este manual son las insignias. Al igual que en los boy scouts, estas pequeñas insignias representaban logros y conocimientos adquiridos, demostrando rango en la jerarquía y valor dentro del grupo. En este cuarto volumen, podíamos encontrar también ilustraciones para identificar colas de aviones, matrículas internacionales, banderas marítimas y mucho más. ¡Era como tener un pequeño museo en nuestras manos.
La parte adivinatoria hizo un guiño oriental en este manual. El horóscopo chino se convirtió en el protagonista Podíamos descubrir las características de nuestro signo y conocer un poco más sobre esta fascinante cultura.
Por cierto, este manual nos introdujo un poco más en el mundo de la música al incorporar un pequeño apartado dedicado a la notación musical nos permitió comprender mejor esos signos.
Y como si fuera poco, el cuarto manual de los Jóvenes Castores nos sorprendió con una introducción al yoga. Esta disciplina milenaria llegó a nuestras manos para ayudarnos a relajarnos y conectar con nuestro cuerpo. Yo no había oído hablar del Yoga hasta que no lo vi aquí.
Aunque han pasado muchos años desde que se publico, este manual sigue siendo una gozada de leer.
Hoy os propongo la visualización del Tercer Manual de los Jóvenes Castores en YouTube. Este manual fue otra entrega de la versión en castellano de esta colección de álbumes publicada por Mondadori. En esta ocasión, nos encontramos ante un volumen que se distingue por la variedad de sus contenidos, donde la conexión entre las diferentes secciones parece ser menos evidente que en los manuales anteriores.
Este manual nos animaba a ser aventureros con propuestas creativas para realizar actividades al aire libre. Desde aprender a orientarse con una brújula hasta construir un refugio improvisado, estas actividades fomentan el contacto con la naturaleza y el desarrollo de habilidades prácticas.
Los amantes de la astronomía y la astronáutica encontrarán en este volumen un tesoro de información, pues dedica una sección completa a estos apasionantes temas. Aprendimos a ver el paso del sol por el firmamento, con sus horas de salida y puesta y todo ello de una manera amena y divertida.
Para aquellos interesados en las artes adivinatorias, la numerología tiene protagonismo en esta entrega. Aprenderán a interpretar el significado de los números y su influencia en nuestras vidas, una herramienta que puede ser de gran utilidad para tomar decisiones y afrontar los retos del día a día. Bueno, o eso querrían mostrarnos los autores.
No podemos dejar de mencionar la excepcional calidad de las ilustraciones que acompañan al texto. Los dibujos, especialmente las dobles páginas a todo color, son verdaderas obras de arte que transportan al lector a los diferentes escenarios descritos en el manual.
En definitiva, el Tercer Manual de los Jóvenes Castores es una obra completa y atractiva que ofrece una gran variedad de contenidos para todas las edades y que aún se lee con gusto. Un volumen interesante de la colección de Manuales de los Jóvenes Castores.
En mi búsqueda de información para la entrada sobre mi visita a la exposición "The Art of Manga", me topé con este fascinante vídeo del usuario mazochungo en YouTube. El vídeo, perteneciente al programa Informe Semanal (con una música de cortinilla que te transporta a otra época), nos ofrece entrevistas a Toutain, Horn y Blasco. Sin duda, una joya para los amantes del cómic y un documento nostálgico y curioso para revivir (aunque me parece que rodaron sin público) el tercer Salón del Cómic de Barcelona de 1983. ¡Que ustedes lo disfruten!

La película nos traslada a la ciudad de Nueva York en la década de los 80 (magnífico el detalle de la bolsa del Naranjito paseada por las calles de la ciudad). Un perro solitario, cansado de su vida monótona, encuentra la solución a sus problemas en la Teletienda: un robot de compañía.
La relación entre el perro y el robot se desarrolla de forma natural, dinámica, humorística y en definitiva conmovedora. A través de sus experiencias juntos, ambos aprenden el verdadero significado de la amistad.
Un fatídico viaje a la playa pone a prueba la amistad de los protagonistas. El agua salada y los circuitos electrónicos no son una buena combinación, lo que desencadena una serie de eventos inesperados que cambiarán sus vidas para siempre.
Robot Dreams es una película que va más allá del entretenimiento. Te invita a reflexionar sobre temas como la soledad, la búsqueda de la felicidad y el valor de la amistad. El tema central de esta película es la amistad, pero el mensaje tiene que ver también con la lealtad y el amor. Y eso es algo que considero que es lo que hace que esta cinta sea brillante y única.

Robot Dreams es la nueva obra del director español Pablo Berger, conocido por películas como Torremolinos 73 (2003), Blancanieves (2012) y Abracadabra (2017). En esta ocasión, Berger se aventura en el mundo de la animación con un resultado excepcional.
Por lo que he podido ver, investigando para esta entrada, la cantidad de premios de su filmografía es apabullante. Por cierto, fue el director del anuncio de la Lotería de Navidad del 2013. Y nos ha llevado a los Oscars dos veces. Casi nada.
La dirección artística de Ágreda
El director artístico, José Luis Ágreda, juega un papel fundamental en la creación del universo visual de la película.
Me quiero centrar en su figura y su trabajo, porque es un viejo y querido conocido entre los aficionados a los cómics. Yo soy uno de esos frikis que se quedan hasta el final viendo los créditos de la película y me alegró ver su nombre en un papel tan destacado en una película tan especial.
Su estilo único, caracterizado por la simplicidad y la expresividad de los personajes, da vida a una historia llena de emociones.
El Robot Dreams original era una novela gráfica
La historia original parte de una novela gráfica de Sara Varon, también sin diálogos (vaya, no lo había dicho antes) que inspiró a Pablo Berger a iniciar el proyecto y planteárselo a José Luis Ágreda.
Colaboración internacional
La película es el resultado de una colaboración entre diferentes estudios de España y Francia, como Apunto Producciones, Sacrebleu Productions y Les Films d'Ici. Esta colaboración ha permitido crear una película con un alto nivel de calidad tanto en la animación como en la producción. También recuerdo como anécdota que algunos centros de estudios de Formación Profesional han trabajado en ella.
Reconocimiento y crítica
Robot Dreams ha sido galardonada con varios premios en festivales de cine internacionales, como el Premio del Público en el Festival de Annecy y el Premio a la Mejor Película de Animación en el Festival de Cine de Málaga.
La película ha recibido críticas muy positivas por parte de la prensa especializada. Se ha destacado la belleza de la animación, la emotividad de la historia y la universalidad de los temas que se tratan.
Minireflexión (spoilers a tope).
Esto de las reflexiones, y máxime con una película como esta, se me da mal, pero creo que es la razón de escribir sobre ella. Lo mejor de esta película no es que es bonita, que está genial hecha y que funciona a la perfección. Lo mejor es que no te deja indiferente.
No tiene el final feliz a lo Hollywood. Cuando se separan los personajes, por mucho que intente el perro volver, no va a ocurrir. Y aunque el robot tiene la posibilidad del reencuentro, no va a ser. Tiene momentos de ensueño que me recuerdan a La La Land y es que esta película tiene mucha Música y muy buena. La canción "September" de Earth, Wind and Fire lleva el hilo conductor de la historia.
Igual es esa la gracia de que no se cierre a la perfección el círculo. Cada personaje ha rehecho su vida y es feliz a su manera. Añoran su amistad (que pasa de estar en pausa a perderse en el devenir de los acontecimientos. Puede que sea lo que menos guste a algunos espectadores, pero da un valor enorme a los sentimientos con los que te has ido encontrando en la película. A mí me dejó con el corazón en vilo, después de la ENORME escena a dos pantallas en la que perro y robot bailan su despedida.
Robot Dreams es una película de animación que no te dejará indiferente. Es una historia conmovedora sobre la amistad, la pérdida y la esperanza, con una animación hermosa y un estilo único. No te la pierdas.
Segundo Manual de los Jóvenes castores, publicado por la Editorial Montena en 1978 y con un precio de 300 pesetas (1,80 euros).
Destacan varias cosas en este manual con respecto al primero. El dibujo cambia y es algo más moderno. Se centran más en juegos y manualidades que en aspectos de la educación ambiental, cosa normal si consideramos que son materiales que fomentan los campamentos de verano.
Otra cosa que llama la atención y va a aparecer en otros manuales es la presencia de métodos de adivinación y auto-conocimiento, como es el caso del I-Ching, completamente detallado y explicado.
Cuenta con una estupenda Yincana ciclística y una introducción al Esperanto.
