La famosa explosión del Krakatoa que dicen, y así consta en algunos relatos, que llegó a oscurecer el cielo de Londres a tantas miles de millas de distancia. Estas cosas son las que nos hacen considerar la arriesgada levedad de nuestras vidas.
Yo conocí esta parte de la historia natural de la Tierra por este artículo en el libro de tesoros. Mucha gente no parece haberla ni visto en ningún momento de su educación.
Y lo dramático es que fue uno de los momentos más contaminantes de toda nuestra historia. No sólo fue cuestión de una mancha en el cielo y de la destrucción de muchas islas para la creación de otras. Fue una barbaridad para la atmósfera y aún debe haber restos de esa contaminación.
