Michael uncovered whispers among the loggers concerning a secret meeting place in the woods while dealing with a suspicious traveler. The escalating web of secrets began closing in around both father and daughter across the decades.
The veil separating our worlds has worn completely thin. Armed with the key provided by my mother, I unlocked the long-abandoned back room of the house, discovering old maps and faded photographs that pointed directly to a hidden clearing deep in the Oakhaven timberlands—the exact same location my father was tracking in 1996.
As I pieced the clues together, the physical reality around me fractured. A sudden, violent ambush broke the silence in both eras simultaneously, as the mysterious stranger cornered me in the present while cutting off my father in the dark woods of the past.
