1987, what a year!
This amazing album was to many of us the 1987, not the self titled Whitesnake or the Japanese version, Serpens Albus (from Latin). And it was great since the songs and the videos matched in the era of MTV. It sold so great that it reached the second place in the US charts that year (this song was 79 as a single).
To say that Coverdale is a talented musician is obvious, but it is also obvious that he has a strong character. Just a little peak: this record was recorded with Cozy Powell, Ainsley Dumbar, Don Airey and Adrian Vanderberg (lately substituted by Steve Vai), but after the release of the album, all except Vanderberg were fired and never appeared in the videos.
The band reformed under Coverdale supervision with Rudy Sarzo, Tommy Aldridge and Vivian Champbell. All of this musicians all well known by hardrockers and recognized as one of the best there are. That was the power of David Coverdale.

I think this is the best song in this epic recording. So bluesy and so hard rock that it has an amazing resemblance of Led Zeppelin’s Black Dog. And so many years later, it is still fresh and cool.
Whitesnake - Still Of The Night
[via TurquiseSnake]
In the Still of the Night
I hear the wolf howl, honey
Sniffing around your door
In the Still of the night
I feel my heart beating heavy
Telling me I gotta have more
In the shadow of night
I see the full moon rise
Telling me what's in store
My heart start aching
My body start a shaking
An' I can't take no more
Now I just wanna get close to you
An' taste your love so sweet
An' I just wanna make love to you
Feel your body heat
In the Still of the Night
In the Still of the Night
In the heat of the day
I hang my head down low
An' hide my face from the sun
Thru the light of the day
Until the evening time
I'm waiting for the night to come
In the Still of the Night
In the cool moonlight
I feel my heart is aching
In the Still of the Night
In the Still of the Night
I hear the wolf howl, honey
Sniffing around your door
In the Still of the night
I feel my heart beating heavy
Telling me I gotta have more
Now I just wanna get close to you
An' taste your love so sweet
An' I just wanna make love to you
Feel your body heat
In the Still of the Night

Great group!, I like another song entitled "Is this love" too..
This song could also be found in this album, Antares.
And I'm sorry but this song in no longer available in YouTube. One day record companies will notice that this uploads are only more exposure to their products instead of piracy.
