One of my all time favourite movies. Along the Spanish version from Cruz Delgado Studios is a great rendition to Jonathan Swift's great novel (one of the best there is. I recommend you if you hadn’t read it). There is also a USSR version that I haven’t watch. I must look for it.
This movie concentrates on the first of the four books. Disney’s Snow White let the other animation studios guessing “what went wrong?” Every theatre in the USA wanted all about Disney and nothing about the others. So Fleisher Studios worked hard and concentrate on a feature film of 75 minutes.

Gabby is the special guess in this movie. Being the star of Fleisher studios it was like having Mickey into Snow White´s.
Reading about the movie I found that Paramount was proposed on this movie in 1934. They could have stroke first, before Disney, but they disregarded the idea. They had to do it desperately in 1939. The first idea was to turn Popeye into the main character, but then they changed their minds and presented a more realistic main role.
They used rotoscoping again, shooting live-action actors and then turning into cartoons.
Many musical numbers and the strange sensation of watching this strange movements from the translation of the movements of the actors into animated characters made this movie a little bit awquard but it doesn’t matter. It is a jewell to be rediscovered.
Enjoy.

Se trata de uno de los mejores libros de aventuras.

Y que crece libro a libro, hasta la maravilla del cuarto libro con los Yahoos, los caballos parlantes, tan misántropo y tan genial.
