Mission Log: Jokes, Badges, and Choppers
🍵 Tea-Mo Deflection & Helipad Charms
Splitting your forces in a high-stakes corporate zone is incredibly risky, but the ORUS agents execute it with theatrical flair. Clad in their freshly scavenged, sleek TZD power armor, the party divides to execute a brilliant double-pronged diplomatic offensive across the plaza.
At the Tea-Mo shop, Lucy strolls up to the marble counter where the goateed, stressed-out program analyst Ken Kato is nursing his green tea. Rather than using intimidation, Lucy leans into pure, disarming charm. She drops an expertly timed, deadpan joke about corporate corporate-speak, acting like an eccentric, high-ranking security contractor lost on her first day. Dr. Stella Pfennig smoothly backs her up, subtly displaying high-level corporate diagnostic schematics on her data-pad to validate Lucy’s cover. Completely disarmed by Lucy's humor and Pfennig’s apparent authority, a laughing Ken Kato eagerly hands over his high-clearance 98th-floor security badge, completely oblivious to the fact that his department is about to be compromised.
Simultaneously, across the tarmac at Chiba Chopper Charters, Dr. Steven Stevens approaches the helipad where Trish is adjusting the oversized jet engine of her light helicopter. Trish is highly defensive, frustrated by the loud corporate firefights scaring away her American tourists, the Smiths. But Dr. Stevens speaks with profound empathy, treating her like a brilliant fellow engineer rather than just a hired pilot. Corporal Morgan Osprey lends a commanding but respectful presence, standing back to keep an eye out for stray drones while endorsing Stevens' professional respect. Flattered by a scientist actually appreciating her engine modifications, Trish happily smiles. She agrees to bypass her current tourists and fly the team directly to the roof as custom, high-priority supercargo.
The party successfully secures both a digital infiltration asset and an expert aerial transport by matching character personalities to the local NPCs.
Combined Assets: The party boards the high-performance helicopter. With Trish's expertly tuned flight matrix (+1) and the heavy power armor securing their physical defenses, they are in prime position to face the airspace defenses.
turbines Spooling: Up the Skyscraper
With Ken Kato's golden security token secured inside Lucy's pocket armor and Trish’s high-performance jet engine screaming to life, the four agents strap themselves firmly into the helicopter's side-benches. Trish slaps her flight visor down, flashing a confident grin as the sleek aircraft lifts effortlessly off the asphalt. The post-apocalyptic ruins of Chiba City fall away below you, revealing the shimmering, oil-sheened expanse of Tokyo Bay to the north.
But the corporate district doesn't let its prizes escape so easily. As the helicopter crests the 50th floor of the massive, neon-pink Vulcan-Yugu skyscraper, a series of high-pitched alert klaxons echo inside your armored helmets. A swarm of six-foot-wide, autonomous TZD defense drones emerges from hidden wall-recesses, their quad-barrel pulse cannons instantly locking onto your flight path with searing red targeting lasers.
