On August 11th, the trio moved cautiously through the rain to the workshop of the paranoid junk merchant, Tink. Just as negotiations for spare parts began, Amanda’s go-bag radio was hijacked by an encrypted, low-frequency transmission from The Seer, warning them of an urgent data dead-drop waiting in the municipal park.
Pressured by the ticking clock of The Seer's warning, the group delays their run to focus entirely on restoring their broken comms array at all costs. Billy hooks his laptop directly into Tink's diagnostics workbench, pushing his own programming limits to help splice together a crude, experimental mobile transmitter.
Tink's initial coldness completely melts away when the old merchant notices the raw, pulsing hexadecimal strings radiating up Adrian’s arms; seeing the kid’s terrifying, systemic affliction strikes a deep chord with Tink, who fiercely sympathizes with their plight after having lost their own cell to the Daemons. With the makeshift device fully compiled and roaring to life, Billy's uplink is restored, allowing them to turn their attention toward the municipal park where Amanda insists on staging a careful defensive perimeter to turn the dead-drop location into a tactical ambush.
SYSTEM LOG // MECHANICS
Billy rolls Hacking (d10) with an extra d6 (Circumstantial Help) provided by Tink's specialized engineering workshop tools to rebuild his communication hardware under pressure.
Result: 7 (Success). The experimental transmitter is perfectly integrated. Billy's network features are restored, and he uncovers an analytical map layout of the park's local grid sector node before they depart.
