Holmes & Yo-Yo (1976).

This post wouldn't be possible if not for the information DAVID gave me when I ask about a robot detective with a chest that opened like a freezer. So here is my post, dedicated to David. Cheers, friend!

Look at this Detective Holmes, a NYC cop that has no partner. No one wants to work with him, because all previous partners died on duty. So a scientist with plenty of spare-time creates a robot to be his colleague. He is not alive, therefore he couldn't die. First it is disguised as a human being. His name: Detective Yoyonivich.

Then a thirteen episode Sitcom with a Yo-Yo starring all the time. He read a book simply flipping the pages at light velocity. Cool!

In Spain, this series was on TV in 1979, when I was seven, at eight o'clock in the evening and I simply love it.  I forget the name and all about it, but this chest that opens simply by putting the tie aside, the coffee heated by pluging the pot into his belly and his powerful body surviving almost everything.

And a really tesis of humanity. If his batteries emptied completely, he'll loose his memories. And that was his personality, his humanity. Cool concept.

Well, enjoy the videos and the links bellow. I sure did. What a time travel situation I suffer with this nostalgic opening. I simply love it.

Gracias por la dedicatoria, Valentín.

Candela, thanks to you and pleased of being of any help.
