Dickens' Day. Saban's Adventures of Oliver Twist.

There is an animated series that featured a funny animal version of Oliver Twist. Here is the first episode.

Saban's Adventures of Oliver Twist Ep 1 Part 1 of 3
A little section of the animated series Saban's Adventures of Oliver Twist based very loosely on Charles Dickens classic with anthropomorphic beings with humans. In the series it turns out that Oliver is not really an orphan. He has a mother but has been separated from her and later sent to the workhouse. In an interesting take, unlike his literary counterpart, the character Fagin (as a fox) is portrayed as a good guy and not a thief teaching younger thieves, or so it seems. Artful Dodger is just a cunning kid and not a pickpocket.

Mona Marshall provides the voice of Oliver. Televised the same time American Tail Fievel Goes West was released in the early 1990s. This series is not yet on DVD so hopefully this will spark interest in a DVD release.

Saban's Adventures of Oliver Twist Ep 1 Part 2 of 3
Second part to episode 1 of the animated series Saban's Adventures of Oliver Twist based very loosely on Charles Dickens classic.

Impressive character designs and voice acting. Mona Marshall provides the voice of Oliver. Televised the same time American Tail Fievel Goes West was released. This series is not yet on DVD. Again, taking Charles Dickens classic in a lighter tone for kids series. Hopefully this will spark interest in a DVD release.

Saban's Adventures of Oliver Twist Ep 1 Part 3 of 3
Final part of episode 1 for the animated series Saban's Adventures of Oliver Twist based very loosely on Charles Dickens classic.

Impressive character designs and voice acting. Mona Marshall provides the voice of Oliver. As funny as it may seem, non of the boys speak with any Brittish accent. Televised the same time American Tail Fievel Goes West was released. This series is not yet on DVD. Again, taking Charles Dickens classic in a lighter tone for kids series.
