Session 2: The Shape of Dread

October the Second | A Revelation of Flesh and Shadow

---

The phantom scent of ink from my brief vision fades, replaced by the suffocating, metallic tang of cold blood and ancient dust. I attempt to cling to the warmth of that cozy study, but the labyrinth is a jealous jailer. The walls begin to thrum—a deep, resonant frequency that vibrates through the soles of my boots and settles into my very marrow. I press my ear against the wet, pulsating stone, desperate for a reprieve.

The house is speaking. Through the haze of my own confusion, I decipher a rhythmic, jagged warning in the masonry. It is a hunt. Before I can retreat, the air turns frigid. A silhouette, impossibly tall and spindly, drifts into the corridor ahead. It possesses limbs like splintered bone and a face that is nothing more than a smooth, blank surface—a featureless void. It moves with a jerky, disjointed gait that mocks the very concept of biology. It has not yet perceived me, but it is moving directly into my only path of escape.

Session 1: The Threshold of Echoes

October the First | A Descent Into Memory

---

The air here tastes of ozone and ancient dust. You blink, and the darkness does not retreat; it merely changes shape. You are standing in a hall so vast that the vaulted ceiling is lost to a suffocating, impenetrable gloom. The walls are not stone, but something that pulses—a slow, rhythmic contraction that matches the thudding of your own heart.

You have no name. You have no memory of the door through which you must have entered. There is only the biting cold and the sound of distant, wet footsteps dragging against the floorboards. You reach into your pocket and find a single, jagged Memory Fragment—a cold, silver key that feels like it belongs to a room you never visited. As you grip it, a section of the wall to your left shudders, sliding aside to reveal a labyrinthine staircase that descends into a damp, unseen darkness. Behind you, the hall groans, and the passage you emerged from vanishes, sealed by a wall that now looks as solid as time itself.
