Nacido en 1952 en Queens, Paul Stanley militó en bandas de rock hasta juntarse con Gene Simmons y, tras salir de Wicked Lester, formar Kiss junto con los otros dos miembros originales.

Ha sido el compositor de la mayor parte de las canciones con más éxito de Kiss y posiblemente la voz más reconocible del rock. Ha sido intérprete del musical Phantom of the Opera y ha presentado exposiciones con sus cuadros. Tiene tres hijos, Evan Shane, Colin Michael y Sarah Brianna. En la actualidad está casado con Erin Sutton.
