Complete Chronicles of Conan (8). Rogues in the House.

How complex could a 20 pages long story could get? Well, Howard could had said something about it. Look here, Conan is in jail, waiting for his execution because he had killed an Anu priest. A prostitute is involved and Conan is taken into custody because this priest was also a law inforced (but he was bad to the bone).

The imprisonment conditions are deplorable, so when an aristocrat, Murilo proposed him to kill his arch-rival, Nabonidus thus regaining his freedom and some money. It seems that Murilo is loosing his influence over the city, close to Corinthia. When the jailer that must set free Conan is arrested, Conan must work it out to get free by his own means. 


Conan can run away now, but he dismisses the idea and turns back to prove faithful to Murilo. But first he settles his debt with the prostitute that settled him. 


Not bad until now, eh? Just wait. Conan gets into Nabonidus lair only to find Nabonidus and Murilo captives of Thak a monster-ape that was a servant to Nabonidus. Meanwhile a group of assassins assault the house only to be slaughter by the traps of the house. 


With the diverted attention, Conan fights the enormous Thak an wins. Nabonidus is happy and tells his plans over the city. Conan slays him. Murilo is free to do as he pleases and Conan leaves the city.

Marco, álbum de cromos de Danone (1976). Primera parte.

Creo que estas entradas van a emocionar a más de uno. La serie mítica de nuestra infancia, tan básica como Heidi y Mazinger Z.

Durante cinco entradas podréis ver lo (poquito) que tengo de este álbum. Seguro que hay colecciones completas por ahí en la red, pero yo os puedo ofrecer sólo esto. Además, los álbumes de la época no son como los de ahora (véase el álbum de Harry Potter que ha sido presentado durante las últimas semanas), antes había mucho que leer, por lo que tenéis la historia completa.

Os recuerdo que era muy difícil coleccionar estos cromos. Había que consumir cantidades salvajes de yogures (y en aquella época no nos pasábamos con tanto lácteo) y luego había pocos chicos con los que cambiar. En fin,un lío. 

Por cierto, es de 1976, por lo que yo tenía cuatro años cuando salió. Precoz que es uno.

Pascual Enguídanos en la Wikipedia.

Por fin un gran artículo en la Wikipedia de uno de los más grandes escritores españoles y el "decano de la Ciencia Ficción española".

Si habéis leído Tonnerre de Brest el año pasado, habréis visto muchas entradas sobre la Saga de los Aznar. Ahora también hay una buena biografía en la Wikipedia, para ampliar aún más el interés por el autor y con más conocimiento.

Alive III (1993).

Poco después de Revenge, la banda reconstituida con Eric Singer lanzó el primer directo tras Alive II de ¡1977! Para ser una banda que consolidó su liderazgo en el directo con aquel mítico Alive, resultaba curioso que toda la década de los ochenta hubiese quedado sin doble álbum en directo, si no contamos con el VHS de los conciertos de Animalize.

Se centra en material no incluido en los otros dos álbumes en vivo, aunque hay mucho retoque de estudio. Una lástima.

Soon after Revenge, the reconstituted band with Eric Singer released the first live recording since Alive II from 1977! For a band that consolidated its leadership in live shows with Alive, it was curious that the entire decade of the eighties would have past   without double live album, if you do not count the VHS Animalize concerts. 


It focuses on material not included in the other two live albums, although there is much studio work. A pity.

Nazareth, Dressed to Kill (1982).

Well, I know that one could expect to see Nazareth related to Love Hurts cover, Hair of the Dog, Crazy from Heavy Metal Movie and the likes. But no. I have this 1981 album on top of my favourite albums, along (It) 'Snaz and the live video was one of my all times "go-back" VHS. Love it.

It was a birthday present my fellow band companions gave me when  I turned 16. And I still have it with their autographs. They knew that Nazareth was one of my favourite bands but I didn't owned an LP from them. This was my first. 

I still follow the music and releases of this 40+ years old band (they started in 1968). Enjoy their long career and music.

Don Miki Especial Vacaciones 1981 (2).

Segunda entrega de este especial publicitario de Don Miki de 1981.

En la imagen superior podéis ver los Manuales Montena, de los que en este blog ya habéis tenido oportunidad de ver varios. En la otra página están los juguetes inchables Toi. Fueron muy populares y publicitados. Pensad que antes no había mucho más. Las colchonetas sí, y los flotadores, pero no las filigranas que se ven ahora en las playas.

Las páginas centrales muestran unos fantásticos juguetes basados en los personajes de la Marvel. Los de abajo ya aparecieron en Tonnerre de Brest. Aún recuerdo cómo perdí la bola, jugando en Cullera y se me escapó hasta llegar al balcón y caer en el paseo marítimo. Una lástima. Como sí podéis comprobar, aún conservo la manopla.

Para terminar esta semana, dos juguetes que no recuerdo y desconozco. Un payasito que salta y un par de juegos de bolsillo con bolitas a cuerda que se supone tienen que ir avanzando poquito a poco hasta derribar los bolos o caer en el hoyo.

La revista de FOROESTHER ha sacado su primer número.

Leyendo el blog de Candela he visto que los valientes del Foro de Esther se han animado a publicar una revista online para promocionar el imperecedero trabajo de Purita Campos. 

Ahora que Esther ha vuelto al kiosco, con material nuevo y reediciones para todos los gustos, no podía faltar el trabajo de tantos aficionados que durante mucho tiempo le han dedicado un enorme esfuerzo a mantener vivo el interés por el personaje. 

La revista promete una publicación mensual. Desde aquí mi más cariñoso aplauso y el reconocimiento al trabajo bien hecho. ¡Enhorabuena!
