Back in 2001, Daron Malakian appeared a lot in guitar magazines. I think he had a lot to say about music approach and innovative techniques. He was a popular player when the band released this Toxicity album. And the band become worldwide showcased.
The album has so many great songs that the first album, that was also amazing, was overcome by this greatness. And my favourite songs were Toxicity and of course Aerials.
The song earned them a Grammy of best Hard Rock performance. And they sure are. They were nominated again.
As a curiosity, the are Armenian and back in 2001 they were mistakenly considered as muslims and, since they were critic with the response of the Govern of the U.S.A. to the terrorist attack of September 11 it was too much for some extremist. Many times they have to explain that the armenians are in majority christians. Many things in politics were crazy back them.
