It starts with the agony of king Bunda Chand of Vendhya. The magicians of the Black Seer has coursed the young king and he dies by the merciful hand of his sister, Yasmina ending an unbearable suffering.
Yasmina has turned into queen and seeks revenge against the evil wizards, agents of the kingdom of Turan. To achieve that, she wants the best. And that is of course Conan.
In her scheme, she can blackmail Conan by kidnapping some of his men (Conan is chief of a Ghulistan town). What she didn't expect is that the very Conan would act as a commando and would kidnap her as a ransom to oblige the Vendhyans to release his men if they want her queen freedom.
Everything turns into a complex situation. Conan has kidnapped Yasmina, his men are captive in Venhya. The Turans had planned to kill everybody by using again the Black Seer wizards. The magician in charge is a young one, Khemsa has his own agenda. He is in love with Yasmina maiden, Gitara.
The story grows and grows as big as it could. Conan barely survives many attacks from many sides. Khemsa and Gitara die, but not before he gives Conan the possibility of finding the weak point of the Seer. Everybody dies, except Conan that saves his life by being taken for dead and Yasmina, that now is in the hands of the Black Seer.
Conan, now aided by a group of Irakzais, assaults the fortress of the Black Seer in Yimsha. Having the instructions given by Kehmsa, Conan and his new men has a Pyrrhic victory, killing all the magicians at the cost of most of his men lives.
Conan returns with Yasmina to Vendhya, helps their men against the Turan and let Yasmina return to her throne.
