Dickens' Day. Oliver Twist.

Dickens published monthly, form February 1837 to April 1939 one of his more famous novels, The Adventures of Oliver Twist. It was printed in Bentley's Miscellany as a serial.

Oliver Twist, the story of the poor child turned into a pickpocket thief that survives the evil Fagin and releases all his good qualities putting aside the old life and becoming a prosper man.

There is also the melancholic part when we discover that his family, his real family, could set him apart from the street life and help him into his new self.

But the powerful image of a gang of children stealing from good citizens, being both victims and criminals is one of the most defined portraits attained by Dickens.
