In august 1988 a cold song warmed our mood. A year earlier, INXS releashed Kick one of their best LPs. But this nostalgic and sad song took us for surprise.

It started as a bluesy tune that changed into a synth ballad with impressive use of the silences and the unforgettable voice of Hutchence.

The video is also unforgettable. A lovely Prague in the Fall, as lovely as ever is the frame of this sad song. A broken heart that ends in tragedy. A premonition.

In 2006, Never Tear Us Apart was considered the Australian (where INXS members are from) “National Favourite Lyric”. Not bad for a single song.
